Frequently Asked Questions

  • A Professional Organizer is someone who helps bring order and efficiency to your functioning by overcoming clutter and lack of organization and systems.

  • There are 14,000 people in the United States who call themselves Professional Organizers. There are only 4,000 registered with the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and have completed a curriculum studying organizing and the ethics involved. Whomever you chose to work with should be a member of the NAPO.

  • We discuss, usually by phone, your needs; what your goals are and how I might be able to assist and by which methods. Together we evaluate the situation, and discuss what we believe you require and what we can accomplish. We will discuss the cost of services and schedule an assessment to get the process started.

  • The in-home assessment is generally a 2 ½ to 3 ½ hour session where we assess the areas to be organized, plan what can be done, and what components may be necessary.
We measure the space for products or appliances needed.
Finally, we formulate a plan for the work to be done in each area involved, including who needs to be involved in the work and how. With this, the client may choose to proceed with our assistance, or to take on the project themselves with the plan.

  • That is totally up to you. We work with you or can work independently so you need not be involved moment to moment. We do ask that you are available for consultation. We can also provide a plan with which you might handle the work yourself. An agreement of what, and how, is to be accomplished is written so we both know what to expect.

  • Our Assessment is billed at a flat rate of $295.

My hourly fee thereafter ranges from $50 - $75 per hour based on the complexity of the services to be provided.

  • That is dependent on the complexity of a project and the degree to which a client can be available and/or can make the space/people involved available. We work at your pace.

  • Not every project is major. We charge a minimum of 3 hours per session.

  • We accept cash, checks and the major credit cards (with a 3% processing fee per credit card transaction). This is paid at the end of each day or week depending on the estimated length of the project.
